Hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops will remain located in dozens of U.S. military bases around the country
July 1, 2009 "The corporate media are all excited and give a blanket coverage to the story of Iraqis" regain their sovereignty, "since U.S. troops are withdrawn from Iraqi cities. This course is livid and unfounded propaganda - hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops will remain in Iraq placed in dozens of U.S. military bases that have been built throughout the country.
"Today in Iraq there are approximately 130,000 U.S. military. The majority of U.S. soldiers who were deployed in Iraqi cities are indented in garrisons elsewhere in the country. The U.S. Air Force controls the Iraqi airspace. The Navy United States controls the territorial waters of Iraq, "says Cryptogon blog.
"Sovereignty: No. Propaganda: Yes.
After the date of complete withdrawal "official" in 2011, that Admiral Mike Mullen has revealed not even be guaranteed, "Obama plans to leave behind a" residual force "of tens of thousands of troops to continue training the Iraqi security forces, capture the cells of foreign terrorists and protect American institutions, "said the New York Times last February.
" residual forces "is a euphemism for" occupying army " , since only the most stupidly naive could never believe that Iraq now is nothing more than a puppet state subjected to the empire of the new world order.
A senior official explained it more clearly by the thread and sign the Los Angeles Times : "When President Obama said that we were going" out "from Iraq within 16 months, some people have felt" out ", and each leaves. But this will not happen, "said the officer.
Indeed, when the last calculation was done almost three years ago , the U.S. military in Iraq had built no less than 55 military bases, fully functional, with the emergency funding to build many more.
addition, U.S. troops do not leave even the city altogether. Reports have confirmed that U.S. tanks will continue to patrol areas outside the Green Zone and Baghdad airport. The streets of major cities are still patrolled by US-trained Iraqi soldiers will take place at checkpoints everywhere harassing people on the pretext of checking documents. In addition, if the Iraqis "need help" by U.S. troops to undertake security procedures, they will return soon to the streets just like before.
Iraqis themselves are not deceived by the farce. As the New York Times admits , today the "celebrations" seem staged. " According to the report, "The police cars were decorated with garlands of plastic flowers and signs that celebrate" Independence Day "were associated with shock-proof walls and fences around the city. Monday night, a festive evening celebration at the Park Zahra with singers and visitors attracted mainly young people, many of them policemen out of service. "
"There is no doubt that this is not sovereignty national because the Americans will remain inside Iraq on military bases, "said Salim Najim, 40, teacher of Basra." But the government wants to convince people that there is a withdrawal of foreign troops, although the government can not protect citizens in some cities in Iraq even with the presence of U.S. forces. "
According Websters Dictionary, the" sovereignty "is defined as" freedom from external control.
Anyone who believes that Iraq is a country sovereign and has the "freedom from external control" or that it will never win as hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops are stationed in dozens of bases across the country, probably still believes that Saddam hid weapons of mass destruction.
